The Freshest Sommer Festival

Lemonjazz Festival Sorrento 2023 kicks off on July 1st in Villa Fiorentino in the city of lemons with concerts offering different styles and successful sounds. With free entrance (until seats availability) the shows scheduled at 8:30 p.m. will be adorned by the evocative atmosphere of the musical event dedicated to the flavors and colors of the territory.
There are many styles on offer. It starts on Saturday 1st July with C'ammafunk. Behind a play on words hides a "street / old school" funk sound with a contamination from the characteristic jazz of hip-hop and psychedelia. Followed by the group The Sweet Life Society, which drew the concept of sound from the rustling of vintage vinyl for a project born from the meeting of the two producers, Gabriele Concas and Matteo Marini, creating a rhythm that knows how to amuse and entertain.
On Sunday 2nd July the Enrico Valanzuolo Trio will take to the stage and their strong and incisive melodies, with never predictable arrangements, which ferry the listener towards new emotional paths, where silences and sounds create suggestions and feelings. The program follows the artist Karima in the show entitled "No Filter", who began to make herself known to the general public by participating in the sixth edition of Amici and winning the Critics Award. In 2009 he competed at the Sanremo Festival in the New Proposals category. "No Filter" is the new recording project, a lineup of great international hits, revisited with explosive intensity, in an overlapping of pop and jazz elements.
Saturday 8nd July is the turn of the Fabio Nunziata & Aldo Vigorito Duo. The artistic couple represents the ideal ensemble for an intimate musical dialogue open to new sound and timbre explorations. Also on Saturday the Andrea Braido Trio performs in “Play
Jimi Hendrix". Andrea Braido is a great multi-instrumentalist and virtuoso guitarist. Many Italian singer-songwriters and artists, from Vasco to Mina, have used his collaboration for the musical improvement of many songs that are part of the history of Italian rock.
On Sunday 9th the Lucy Kiely Trio plays a Mediterranean swing tune drawing on the Australian singer-songwriter's years of experience, which includes releasing four of her original albums and co-writing the official platinum jubilee song for Queen Elizabeth II. In closing the highly refined Lino Cannavacciulo in "Via Napoli", a journey through five centuries of Neapolitan music, an act of love and gratitude towards an artistic heritage that the composer from Pozzuoli has created with balance, from Scarlatti to Pino Daniele, from Pergolesi to Pink Floyd, passing through Viviani, De Simone and the Osannas.
The Lemonjazz Festival is organized by the Foundation and the Municipality of Sorrento with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

On the way of Lemonjazz Festival

The Lemonjazz Festival was born in 2012 from an idea of artistic director Mario Mormone. It takes place in the splendid Villa Fiornetino in Sorrento. The first edition was crowned by the likes of Avio Travel, Claudio Jr De Rosa 4tet with Alfredo Rodriguez Trio, James Taylor Quartet, Livio Minafra with Javier Girotto & Aires Tango and Billy Cobham accompanied by Stanley Jordan and Christian Galvez. Already in the first edition there was great appreciation from the public. The success of this event was confirmed in the second edition, which had as guests Stanley Clarke, Roy Hargrove, Yellowjackets. Gegè Telesforo and the Bobo Trio also took the stage. There was no shortage of participation from local companies and artists. Thanks to this mix, the festival has continued to gain appreciation and followers. The third edition is in 2019 when a sensational programme once again creates an extraordinary event. Jazzmeia Horn, Francesco Cafiso 4tet, Scott Henderson Trio, Doug Lawrence with John Trentacosta and Tuck & Patti take the stage.  The audience turnout reaffirms its success, such for Lemonjazz 2022 thanks to artits like  Richard Galliano, Joe Bastianich & Terza Classe, Matteo Mancuso and Naturally 7.
